Mayor Bloomberg and NYC Teachers Union failed to reach a deal, on what though? Hit the jump for the full story.
The NYC Teacher Union and Mayor Michael Bloomberg both failed to reach a deal on teacher evaluations. Let me break it down, it all started when Gov. David Patterson persuaded the federal government to reward them with $700 Million race to replace old evaluation systems. The thing is, The NYC Teachers Union didn’t agree with what Mayor Bloomberg’s offer was, so $450 Million might just be down the drain. The loss could result in larger class sizes, fewer teacher hires and cuts in support staff and after-school programs. But the crazy thing is, this comes on the second day of the yellow-bus strike, leaving more than 100,000 nyc children to find new ways to get to school.
