In the sports world, being called a “diva” is never a good thing. It is usually meant for players who are soft, or either have temper tantrums like a 6 year old girl when things do not go their way. The Thunder have great team chemistry, so I hope the fact Perkins is calling his own teammate a diva does not hurt that. Perkins decided to also mention Rondo as a diva too. Read more after the jump.

Perkins, in an recent interview with Justin Verrier of ESPN.com was quoted as saying, “Russell Westbrook’s physicality, owed to a long and muscular frame, is unlike most other point guards”. When he was asked about how Rondo was when Perkins was in Boston, he said “They definitely different from other point guards. They both some divas. In a good way though.” That dreaded D-word never usually means “In a good way”, and Perkins does not really elaborate on how he meant it. I can only assume because these two point guards are known for their attitude/personality just as much as their game on the court is what he is trying to say. I would say maybe it was a reference to how Westbrook dresses, but when has anyone seen Rondo dress with style, so I don’t know about that one. Both players at times can be seen losing their cool on the court, but overall these “divas” are doing just fine.
