I wish this story would disappear the same way Te’o disappeared during the BCS title game. Pow! Zing! But seriously I am so fed up with the coverage this guy is getting from the media. I hope everyone realizes at the end of the day if he winds up being part of the hoax it really doesn’t mean anything. No laws were broken and no rules were violated. Worst case NFL teams will think twice about him, which I am sure they already are doing. We are basically covering an over-hyped linebacker who I am expecting will not be anymore than an average NFL player. But, news is news and there is a new update to this story with a twist. Read more after the jump.

After reports yesterday that Te’o was actually talking to a man the entire time who was disguising his voice, today it is being learned that the voice was indeed a woman. Tino Tuiasosopo, the cousin of Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who is reportedly the one responsible for the hoax itself, was the voice Te’o was speaking to all those months. According to the New York Post, family members have confirmed the voice on the voicemails that were aired during the interview Te’o had with Katie Couric are indeed Tino Tuiasosopo. “Tino is the girl that Manti has been talking to all these months,” said a Tuiasosopo cousin, according to the Post. A person identified as Tino Tuiasosopo’s cousin said: “There is no doubt whatsoever that it’s Tino.” Good Morning America sent the tapes to 4 audio experts, who all said the voice was definitely a woman, not a man trying to change his voice. Te’o was talking to somebody because records show there was a 1,000 calls back and forth between him and the 661 area code number during the 4 months he thought his supposed girlfriend was in the hospital in California. Ronaiah Tuiasosopo’s lawyer Milton Grimes had been one of the people saying it was his client disguising his voice, saying people in Hollywood do it all the time. His client does have some dramatic training and may be capable of pulling it off, but family members are saying something different. They are saying his lawyer is saying it was only him because he wants to take the rap for the hoax by himself and does not want anyone else involved to get in trouble. Unfortunately I am sure there is still more to come. For the record I don’t believe a word Te’o says and I am convinced he was in on it.
