Happy Groundhog’s Day! My favorite part about today is watching the movie, Groundhog Day, but some people really take into consideration if the groundhog sees his shadow or not. According to folklore, if the groundhog comes out of his burrow and catches a glimpse of his shadow (which would frighten him), we will have six more weeks of winter. If the groundhog does not notice his shadow, we get an early spring! Punxsutawney, Pennslyvania has been predicting the weather this was since 1887 and Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous weather predicting groundhogs despite the emergence of Staten Island Chuck and Atlanta’s “General Beauregard Lee.” Find out what Phil predicted below.
Early Spring is coming!! Phil came out from his burrow this morning and walked around not noticing his shadow which predicts an early Spring! I don’t care if he’s wrong, at this point I’ll take just a prediction of the end to this cold winter!
