The ever flashy Adrien Broner entered in a red, blue and silver shiny getup rapping and dancing his way into the ring.  Rees entered the ring as a major underdog but that didn’t seem to phase him as he took on Broner displaying strength and heart of his own.  He in fact won the first two rounds delivering several body shots surprisingly with ease as Broner’s bravado was up but he was defense was lacking.

Broner appeared to be toying with Rees but that came to an end when the third round began.  Broner’s hand speed advantage took over as he landed an eight-punch combination before Rees could even respond.  A crazy right uppercut to the chin sent Rees to the mat for his first knockdown of the night and was so bad his girlfriend got up and left from her ringside seat.  The punishment just continued from there.  During the fifth round Broner unleashed, dropping Rees with a body shot and landing a series of uppercuts and shots to the head.  It became too brutal as Rees’ trainer Gary Lockett stopped the fight giving Broner the victory by TKO at 2:59 of the fifth round.  Rees stands at 37-2-1, 19 KOs while Broner has moved up to 26-0, 22 KOs and retains the WBC Lightweight title.
