There’s been so many good and bad new stories about Derrick Rose lately.  Well here’s another good one for you Bulls fans!

According to Jon Greenberg at ESPN:

Derrick Rose checked off another box for a possible return to action. He practiced five-on-five for the first time this season on Monday afternoon.

Rose had been cleared for regular contact for weeks, but the Bulls’ first post-All-Star break practice gave the team a chance for a full scrimmage at the Berto Center before departing for New Orleans.

Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson told “The Carmen, Jurko & Harry Show” last week on ESPN 1000 that Rose would participate in 5-on-5 drills after the All-Star break and the team will monitor how his body responds.

Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich, who will return to action Tuesday against the Hornets after missing the last seven games with an elbow infection, said the Bulls did “probably three, seven-, eight-minute scrimmages.”

“He did what everyone else did,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said of Rose on Monday. “Just a normal practice.”

As usual, the Bulls were tight-lipped on details of Rose’s participation. Joakim Noah would only say Rose did “just a little bit. Not too much.”

“He was able to get out there, it was good,” Hinrich said. “I’m sure it was helpful for him to give him a good gauge of where he’s at.”

Last week, Rose said he couldn’t dunk in stride yet, giving reporters another recurring question to ask to measure his status. Noah said Rose didn’t dunk in practice.

“No, not yet,” Noah said. “Sorry.”
