The Gospel World looses a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend, hit the jump for more.

The Legendary Staples Singers not only lost a member of thier group, but they lost their oldest sister. The group was started by the their father, Roebuck “Pops” Staples in the 40s. Two decades after the group was born they became an unlikely hit maker for the Stax label. The Staple Singers had a string of Top 40 hits with Stax in the late 1960s, earning them the nickname “God’s greatest hitmaker!” Now that’s dope! Cleotha was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease when God Called her name. Ms. Staples will be truly missed by her family, and friends, and fans.
