I understand Klay Thompson’s dad used to play in the NBA, so he knows you need to manage the money you make, but does it have to be like this pops? Mychal Thompson was a former NBA player in the late 80’s and early 90’s with the Lakers, but times have changed since then. Or maybe they haven’t. Check out what Klay has to deal with when it comes to his money after the jump.

@IamJOE357

Klay Thompson makes about $2.3 million dollars this season, but he barely gets to see any of it. That is because his NBA paychecks are paid directly to his parents so they can manage his financial future. His rent is $3,000/month, which is paid directly from his account without him ever touching it. His parents give him $300 a week! Yes, an NBA future star who is making millions only gets to see $300 a week that his parents give to him. Next week however, his weekly payout will be short, because Klay’s parents are upset with him for getting involved in the fight this week with his Warriors and Indiana Pacers. In an interview with ESPN it seemed Mychal did not tell his son yet that his allowance is going to be short. He was quoted “He will find out he has been fined by us when he sees that cash envelope show up a little short this week”. So basically, no making it rain in strip clubs for Klay, no crazy car purchases or tricking money on friends. Sounds like his parents got him on the right path, but can they let him get at least $500 a week? lol. If you haven’t seen the fight, check it out below.
