A young couple went on a four-month trip to Peru from their home in California in November. Before they left they let their friends and family know that they would not have cell phone and internet access until they returned. In January, after her son posted on Facebook for what would be the last time, the mother of Garrett Hand sprung into action.
Instead of waiting, Garrett’s mom called the Peruvian government who announced a nationwide search for the couple. The US Embassy joined in on the search and found that they were alive and not even aware of all the international fuss made over them. Garrett and his girlfriend both posted on Facebook letting everyone know they are alright and would continue not to answer anyone until they returned. The mom is delusional and says no one can trust what he’s saying until he calls her. LOL Mom give it up.
