President Obama announced that there will be some serious budget cuts happening soon. As the President announced that these cuts would be happening, he kept saying the cuts were “unnecessary” and “dumb.” Obama has pointed the finger at the Republicans in Congress, blaming the cuts on them. So what exactly is being cut? FEMA, The Centers for Disease Control, Department of Homeland Security, and more. Find out exactly how much is being cut below.

Julie A.

The Centers for Disease Control: cut of $289 million
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs: $175 million cut
Rural Electrification and Telecommunications Loans Program Account: $2 million cut
Food for Peace Title II grants: $74 million
Tennessee Valley Authority: $23 million
Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund: $20 million
National Labor Relations Board: $14 million
The Office of the Chief Information Officer in the Department of Homeland Security: $16 million
National Endowment for the Arts and for the Humanities: $7 million

The most shocking to me, personally, FEMA is being cut $928 million in disaster relief.
