THUNDER TRADES

Hugo guard Trey Johnson is having a rough time since a video went viral of him hitting a buzzerbeater in the wrong basket and causing his team a victory in the state playoff basketball game.  His high school Hugo is located in Oklahoma and now the OKC Thunder and GM Sam Presti are doing what they can to help to him.  Read more after the jump.

According to The Oklahoman, Thunder GM Sam Presti contacted Johnson on Friday and spoke with the Hugo High School guard. Presti (pictured) would not reveal what he said to Johnson, but you figure he tried to lift the 16-year-old’s spirits.

Presti confirmed that Johnson attended Sunday’s Thunder-Boston Celtics game as a guest of the team.

The Thunder even sent a tweet from the official team account Friday to offer encouragement to Johnson and his teammates:

The Oklahoman also reports that former longtime NBA guard Derek Harper, who committed a major blunder in the 1984 Western Conference playoffs, reached out to Johnson to offer encouragement.

I’m sure that mistake is something he’ll never forget but at least they’re doing what they can to help and I’m sure he’ll never forget that as well.
