Seven people were killed in The Mermaid bar in Cancun, Mexico across town from the tourist area when two men came in firing semi automatic riffles. Four more were wounded yet none of them were tourist. The incident happened at a local bar that is on the outskirts of town, no tourists party there and its completely on the other side of town from the hotel row where the Spring breakers notoriously rage. According to sources most of the men killed were part of a Taxi drivers union, however police are still working on a motive. This year Cancun expects 43,000 visitors, a jump from the 25,000 last year due to growth in violent crimes in other notorious party areas of Mexico such as Acapulco.
