During A$ap Rocky’s shoot for ‘L’Uomo Vogue’ magazine ( in which he appeared on this month’s cover) he made a very confident statement clearly stating that “He Is the Future of Hip Hop!” Now I know some people may say he’s cocky, or just downright disagree! Peep what he said right after:
“See, I love rap from the 90s, like Wu- Tang Clan or Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and I honor all the pioneers of the genre who came before me. I think that, in a certain sense, we’re experiencing something similar to that period. But if the first half of the nineties was called the ‘Golden Age’, I want this period to be remembered as the ‘Platinum Age’ or ‘Diamond Age’. Currently, there’s a new artist movement that’s rewriting the rules of hip hop and I’m their leader, king, and emperor, that’s for sure. I’m the future of this genre”.

Wow!!!….delusional much??? He’s not even among the ‘A-listers’ in his class much in less the ‘king’ or ’emperor’. Fundamentally ASAP should be focusing on perfecting his craft, understanding what he has to offer the culture and the art form, and lastly figure out how to stretch himself beyond what he knows musically (apparently the early 90s).
