NFC East fans, are you rejoicing?! Lol. I’d love to know how you Cowboy fans are feeling about this?! Yes, I’m a Giants fan and I don’t say this because I can’t stand the Cowboys, but I just wouldn’t have faith in Romo if he was my QB.
A contract extension for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo appears to be coming sooner rather than later. Details after the jump…

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke Tuesday during the owner’s meetings in Arizona about the progress being made toward getting a new deal done with Romo.

“I’m not concerned that we are looking at a drawn out thing here,” Jones said, via Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’m not concerned that is going to in any way hamper any decision we want to make personal wise over the next few weeks.”

When asked if it was safe to say the Cowboys are closing in on a deal for Romo, Jones agreed.

“I’m okay with (saying) that,” Jones said.

Romo is set to enter the final year of his contract and is currently scheduled to count $16.8 million against the Cowboys salary cap this season. With the Cowboys already tight against the salary cap, a contract extension could help free up additional room under the cap to allow the team to continue to pursue free agent options and sign their upcoming draft class.
