Many players are speaking out about the new NFL rules.  Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte was very vocal about the new helmet rule and now Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is speaking out as well.  Read more after the jump.

“[T]hey keep making these rules, people aren’t going to want to watch football any more,” Dez Bryant said Saturday, via the Dallas Morning News.  “I don’t think that rule is going to last long.  There’s going to be so many penalties in this league.  Too many guys getting fined.  It’s hard for somebody to pay attention to trying to not to use their helmet.”

I understand completely what Dez Bryant is saying.  With the many new rules already in place, I’ve noticed many people who say football isn’t the same anymore.  Football has long been considered one of the best because it’s a contact sport and with the new rules people are beginning to dislike it.  Some of the calls make it into a b*tch sport (for lack of a better word).  I know that player safety is extremely important especially with the growing list of players suffering long term effects but they have to be careful not to go too far because soon they’ll end up changing the sport altogether.
