Today Facebook had an event to introduce its new platform. Facebook Home will be hitting some Android phones on April 12th. Mark Zuckerberg said,”Today we’re finally going to talk about that Facebook phone or how you can turn your android phone into a simple social device.”
He said that on average we spend 25 percent of our phone time on Facebook and Instagram and we basically spend our lives sharing and connecting. Facebook wants to make it easier, instead of their phones being designed around apps first, the want to flip it around and have their phones designed around people first. Mark continue, “We want to bring content to the front and go ahead and use whatever apps you want whenever you need them.We want to bring the experience of having a Home right to you, and deliver it to as many people as possible. It’s a family of apps that you can install on your phone. And.. it’s Facebook Home!”
As of now Facebook home will only before Android OS, Zuckerberg said that if they were to create one with Apple it would have to be a partnership because they are much more closed than Android and with Android they don’t have to work directly with them.
