IFWT_bombing_suspects
More information is being released about the dead suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. 26 year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev came to the U.S. in 2003 from Chechnya and had a love of boxing. The story gets crazy. This man, who may be responsible for causing harm to as many Americans as he could, was actually a member of the U.S. Olympic boxing team for a while. Say What? Yeah crazy right? Someone who could of actually represented us at the olympics may very well be the same person who brought destruction to our country as well. Read more after the jump.

Tsarnaev never actually made our olympic boxing team, but he tried. He was actually good enough to have some matches with the boxers who made the team to see where he was at skill wise. According to reports he was actually pretty successful. At the time, he was gushing about how much he loved America. According to the Lowell Sun, he was quoted back then as saying “I like the USA, America has a lot of jobs. That’s something Russia doesn’t have. You have a chance to make money here if you are willing to work.” He fought in the Golden Gloves tournament a couple different years. He never won the whole thing, but fared pretty well. In a photo essay leading up to the Golden Gloves bouts, he said he thought he could use boxing to earn American citizenship, going so far as to say he thought he could make the U.S. Olympic team. In the same essay, however, he hinted that he wasn’t completely comfortable in the U.S., saying: “I don’t have a single American friend, I don’t understand them.” I wonder if not making the Olympic team had anything to do with his dislike for the U.S. Or were there other factors over the years that led to his mindset. More on this to come.
