From ESPN:

Golden State Warriors forward David Lee left Saturday’s first round playoff game against the Nuggets with a right hip flexor strain. The Warriors announced that X-rays were negative and Lee would have an MRI on Sunday.

Lee had 10 points and 14 rebounds in 29 minutes Saturday. He was injured with 11:33 to go when he was fouled by Denver center JaVale McGee and landed hard on his right hip. Lee stayed on the ground for a few moments in pain.

“You’re always worried about your teammate,” said Stephen Curry, who finished with 19 points for the Warriors. “For him not to be able to finish the game, you knew it was something.”

Lee was able to take two free throws afterward, but limped off the court in pain and had to be replaced by Carl Landry.

“It’s unfortunate,” Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. “He is certainly a highlighted guy for us, somebody we count on. At the same time, we believe in our guys, top to bottom. So we feel comfortable and confident with whoever has to step up in his place. We are, and will always be, a no-excuse basketball team.”

The Warriors lost the game 97-95 and trail the best-of-seven series 1-0. Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Denver.
