Cellphone In Court

Benjamin Kohler who is 26, was doing jury duty in Oregon for an armed robbery trial. He was sitting through testimony when the lights dimmed to show a surveillance video for the courts. The dimmed lights revealed a glow on his face, it would appeared that Benjamin was using his phone. In fact, he was texting and not even paying attention to the trial. The jury was already warned not to use their cellphone so when the Judge saw his face he quickly dismissed him and then threw him in jail for 2 days. The judge told the courts, “In this case, Mr. Kohler failed to meet his obligations and failed to honor the direction of this court. My hope is that he will use his time in jail to reflect upon his behavior.
