Once again, inflation is here, and this time it’s hitting NYC’s water and sewage rates. Hit the jump for the full story.

The New York City Water Board will increase the city’s water and sewage rates by 5.6 percent in July. Mind you, water rates jumped by 7 percent last year and by nearly 13 percent in 2009. But this time they’ve got a new reason. So what’s the reason this time, Commissioner Carter Strickland says the agency is working to ensure that residents “get the best possible water and wastewater services at the most affordable rates.” This better be some pretty good water!
