Kanye West’s album, Yeezus, sprung a leak yesterday and although Kanye has said he doesn’t care if the album leaks, Def Jam Records certainly does. Def Jam is said to be on a serious hunt for whoever leaked the album, which is set to be released in a few days, and rightfully so. In today’s world a leak is almost expected, but they really should not be happening because it is a driving force behind failing record sales. It is said that Def Jam has a “leaks division” that is investigating who leaked the album and they have a hunch on who it is! Read more below.
At his New York City listening session, Kanye said that he doesn’t care if his album leaks because it’s about the music but I’m sure that’s not totally true. He also feels like a leak was going to occur because there are too many people working on the album, hence why he had no cover art. If my memory serves right, the only hip hop album that hasn’t leaked in recent years was Watch The Throne. Maybe if Def Jam successfully finds the leaker and they face some form of fine or punishment the future leaks will stop?
