The simple black-and-white program features a head shot of the Emmy-winning actor on its cover. The lower left corner includes the time and date of the funeral with the message “A Celebration of the Life of James John Gandolfini.” Bidding on the second item billed as a “rare original guide program of James Gandolfini’s beautiful funeral” was already above $100. About 2,000 people filled the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for the emotional Thursday morning farewell to the New Jersey-born actor.
His teary castmates from “The Sopranos” turned out en masse at the funeral, from TV family members Edie Falco to Jamie-Lynn Sigler to faux gangsters Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico and Steven Schirripa.
Members of the public were also allowed inside, with some lining up for hours before the cathedral doors opened.
