We know Twinkies are returning to the shelves in less than two weeks, and some of their customers want to receive them frozen?
Under new owners, Hostess said they are freezing the sponge cake treat before they ship them to select customers. Only ten percent of their customers requested this service, so Hostess was willing to freeze them.
A Hostess spokesperson had this to say about freezing Twinkies, “A select number of retail customers – representing about 10 percent of our distribution – have explicitly requested to receive frozen product. This allows them to date the product for freshness, provides flexibility in filling their shelves, and has no impact on the quality or taste of our products. The choice is up to our customers.”
So it doesn’t matter, they’re still going to taste good on their return… Maybe even taste fresher than others because of being frozen?
