If only I had millions to bid on this piece of James Bond History. RM Auctions will not be giving an estimate of what the famous Submarine Car will go for, but the car will easily reach seven figures. When made, it cost $100,000 to build the car; which is about $400,000 in today’s money. The 007 Lotus Esprit Series 1 was the only car designed for the film’s famous underwater scene. The car is fully operational, and it was built from six Esprit body shells.
