Uber Ice Cream Truck

Uber, a startup based out of San Francisco, made its name letting people hail private drivers using a smartphone app. On Friday, a one day only promotion in Miami, Houston and Portland, OR, – only three of the 35 cities Uber serves – is letting users of the app summon an ice cream truck on demand, as long as they plan to order more than one cone. Six ice cream cones cost anywhere from $20 to $35, depending on the city, so it’s probably best that this promo is a one day only. Uber’s promo is especially clutch considering the heatwave currently slamming the East Coast, engulfing New York in 100° heat for this entire week. Uber did what in their last promotion? Uber normally lets users hail taxis, limousines, SUVs or high-end sedans. On July 3, for a price of $3,000 for a group of five Uber let customers take a helicopter out to the Hamptons from New York.
