This was a long time coming! There is absolutely nothing appealing about the current Charlotte Bobcats franchise. They play in a dreary looking arena, the seats are half full and Michael Jordan has shown that talent on the court, does not always translate to talent off the court, like say owning a team! But things might be looking up. With Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and the addition of big man Al Jefferson, they are starting to put together something solid. However the best thing the franchise has done in a while is coming in 2014-2015. Hit the jump for more.

The Bobcats no longer exist, say hello once again to the Charlotte Hornets!! Starting with the 2014-2015 NBA season, the Charlotte franchise is getting their original name back. The team started in Charlotte in the late 1980’s, but moved to New Orleans more than 10 years ago, and took the name with them. Now that the New Orleans franchise is known as the “Pelicans”, which is a pretty ugly name, the Hornets became available again. Who remembers those dope colors the Hornets had back then? Those purple & teal colors had everyone trying to rock those Larry Johnson & Alonzo Mourning jerseys, and a Hornets starter jacket and hat was a must have part of your wardrobe. This is a good move for the team to try and get fans more involved and feel like a new beginning once again. I just hope they use those same exact colors.
