Pastor Rodney Wills was the youngest pastor of Mt. Salem Baptist Church and now he is the pastor with the shortest term. Why? He got removed from the position after 14 deacons voted him out because he attended a Rick Ross concert. Deacon Miles Langley said “We cannot have our leader supporting people of this world who are tearing down the kingdom of God…We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem. We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next. Period.” Rodney Wills had also attended a Lil Wayne concert 9 months ago that first sparked the attention of the deacons. So before you go to a Rick Ross concert, make sure it doesn’t cost you your job!
