If you haven’t heard, George Zimmerman was spotted browsing for a tactical shotgun. Contrary to earlier reports, Zimmerman did not browse Kel-Tec firearms with his attorney, Mark O’Mara. In response to the rumors, a spokesman for O’Mara issued a statement to Yahoo News. Check it out after the jump.
Shawn Vincent, O’Mara’s spokesman said, “We certainly would not have advised him to go to the factory that made the gun that he used to shoot Trayvon Martin through the heart. That was not part of our public relations plan.”
Also, in response to previous reports, Kel-Tec firearms reached out to Yahoo News as well. They stated that “He simply wanted to see the manufacturing facility. This is a common occurrence with our customer base that live close by or may be traveling through.”
Kel-Tec happens to be one of the country’s largest producers of handguns. They also provided Zimmerman with the gun that killed Trayvon Martin, but stated that it did not want to gain recognition because of Martin’s death.
“Kel-Tec’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone whose lives were forever changed,” reads the statement. But money is what is definitely talking.
