Dave Chappelle had a meltdown after he was heckled by an audience during his show in Hartford, CT. He had only been on stage for a few minutes when some members of the crowd starting booing him. He then proceeded to lecture the crowd about heckling and then just sat on a stool for the next 25 minutes. He told the crowd, “I f**ked up when I left my show, you know why? ‘Cause my show only has to be 22 minutes of television. I could’ve went on television, I could’ve read the phone book for 22 minutes and I would’ve got $50 million dollars. I shoulda done that sh*t but my ego wouldn’t let me. Tonight is different. Tonight my contract says 25 minutes and I have 3 minutes left. and when my 3 minutes is up, my ass is gone.” WOW! Check it out below (the heckling starts at the 1:06 mark).

From my front row view Dave was great. He came on funny as hell without even trying. When forced to deal with unruly, drunk and stoned folks that wanted a flash back of half-baked Chappelle, he refused to go on. The 40 yr. old Dave Chappelle is more mature, been thru a pilgrimage and wanted to share intimate moments about his leave of absence and his personal life. He politely asked a few bad apples not to spoil the bunch. The morons were way too turned up and dude wasn’t compromising. Had I not gave him my book to read it would have been dead silence in that stadium.
