The Indianapolis Star reports that Boyett, a sixth-round pick in April, was arrested early Monday morning on charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement after an incident that started when Boyett was refused admission to a bar. According to the police report, Boyett wouldn’t leave the area in front of the bar and was “cussing” at others in the area when an employee asked police to intervene. Boyett then allegedly tried to run when police attempted to arrest him, throwing a “stiff arm” at an officer in the process, before he was finally corralled by four officers.
“Mr. Boyett had an odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person, his speech was slurred, his eyes were red and glassy, and he had a very abusive behavior toward everyone,” according to the police report.
Boyett allegedly told the arresting officers that they couldn’t arrest him because he was on the Colts and told one officer that he would “come back and break your jaw” while making fun of the hair and nose of another officer.
