49ers Camp Football

Nope!  You won’t be seeing Nnamdi Asomugha rocking jersey #24 this season.  He made an offer to get his number from Anthony Dixon who already has rights to the number, but got rejected!
It may seem like a lot of money to the average person, but maybe not for a football player?! Check out how much he offered for it & let us know if you think it was enough?!

Nnamdi Asomugha will not be wearing number 24 this year — even after offering fourth year running back Anthony Dixon $24,000 for the right to wear the number.

“We tried to go $24K for 24, but I told him, ‘No, I’m going to keep my 24,’” said Dixon, to CSNBayArea.com.

During training camp, the two both wore number 24 because there were so many players and doubling up was allowed. Now that it’s a 53-man roster, though, the sharing of the numbers is over. There will be only one #24. And right now, that’s Dixon.

“I worked hard to get that number when I first got here,” Dixon said. “I worked hard to get it off somebody else. I’ve been No. 24 since high school and college. I’m not ready to sell it, yet.”

There it is. The “yet.” Classic bargaining tactic. Better pony up if you want that number, Nnamdi.
