Who is this Metta World Peace? And what has he done with Ron Artest?? The same guy who has been known his entire career as a very physical, sometimes off the hook type of player thinks he knows how the Knicks can win an NBA championship, and it involves being less physical?? Hit the jump to see what Metta is talking about.

Metta knows, that being from New York, fans in this city love and expect physical play from the Knicks. It has been that way for decades. The Knicks were always known as one of the toughest, physical teams in the league. With Carmelo leading the way, they have recently been less physical, but Metta thinks it should be even less. “I’m not big on just being physical,” World Peace said. “I know New York fans love the old physical teams; New York is a physical place. But New York don’t have a championship in the last how many years? 1973? It’s about time we become intelligent. It’s about time we changed that.”
“All that old physical stuff that all these fans are talking about, I’m from New York, it’s not winning championships,” World Peace said. “You have to bring some type of intelligence and you have to be together. That’s the only thing that’s important. I don’t care about being just a physical team. You have to be both.” He also added that he is not concerned with how many hard fouls the Knicks commit. He just wants the focus to be on playing smarter, not necessarily harder! Knicks fans have always wanted to see their team play physical, so we shall see, but he does have a point.
