A tragic house fire in Suffolk County, claimed the lives of a mother and her children last night. 41 year old Jennifer McCusker, her 2-year-old twins, Brendan and Ava Mistretta and her 7-year-old son Aidan Tarbell, were in the home on Hollywood Drive at the time of the fire. The fire started in the living room and quickly spread to the rest of the house. McCusker passed out from smoke inhalation, while trying to save her children. The distraught father was not home when the tragedy occurred and was seen pacing outside the house, after the fire was put out. The mother and the 3 children were rushed to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Police are unsure what caused the fire.
