The Knicks lost their game against the Bulls last night, but they might of won in the long run. Prior to the game going on the air, Carmelo Anthony did an interview with TNT where he discussed his free agency. He has been taking some undeserved criticism lately for even discussing his possible free agency, and leaving it up in the air as far as where he could wind up. But if you are a true fan you know it would be naive of him NOT to opt-out and become a free agent because of the money he can earn even if he was to re-sign with the Knicks. He decided to clear the air last night and Knicks fans should he happy. Hit the jump.

Melo was Quoted in the Interview

“They pulled all the strings to get me here, and I wanted to be here, you know,” Anthony said in the television interview. “And I want to retire in New York, let’s be quite frank. I think a lot of people jumped the gun when I said I wanted to be a free agent. And yeah, I want people to come to play in New York. I want them to want to play in New York. I want New York to be that place where guys want to come play in New York.”

He is right about that. New York is always a place that good players will want to come to, especially with a competitive team. Carmelo is a King in New York and he knows there is no place better to try and deliver a championship.
