Things got scary for Denver Nuggets fans during their home opener on Friday night.  The team’s mascot was lowered from the rafters to the floor before player introductions but he appeared limp and lifeless and it turned out he was unconscious.

The plan was for Rocky to be lowered in a harness, with a spotlight on him, just before the home opener.

Fans were horrified when a lifeless Rocky was lowered to the center court where he immediately collapsed.  The spotlight was quickly turned off.

Rocky was checked by doctors and taken off the court.

Word from the Nuggets was that Rocky had the wind knocked out of him and would be out for the remainder of the game.

According to CBS executive producer Tom Merolla, Rocky had gotten dizzy and passed out but he’ll be fine.  As for the Nuggets things didn’t get better for them; the Blazers won 113-98.
