Kendrick Lamar graces the cover of GQ’s latest issue as the prestigious magazine’s “Man Of The Year.” The accompanying article follows Kendrick Lamar during a few days at the end of late August…a time when the buzz from his verse in “Control” was still at deafening levels.

Backstage at the 2013 MTV VMAs, the Compton rapper bumped into one of the artists he named in his controversial verse, Drake, so the interviewer took the opportunity to find out their status. “Pretty cool,” Kendrick said of his relationship with the YMCMB rapper. However, he was sure to add in: “I mean, I would be okay if we weren’t.”

In the time since that interview took place, Drake has addressed the verse on multiple occasions, seeming to take a slight offense to it. Kendrick seemed to take aim at Drake again during his cypher at the 2013 BET Awards, but his target was never confirmed, and no further beef ensued. Wonder if this new interview will spark tension back up again? Hmm!
