Everyone was surprised when the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Anthony Bennett as the No. 1 overall draft pick. I was thinking maybe they saw something in him that the rest of us didn’t but so far the Cavs aren’t looking very prophetic at all.
Bennett is off to a super slow start averaging 1.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in about 11.7 minutes per game. He’s playing so poorly a fan asked if he would be sent to the D League.

Hey, Doug: No No. 1 pick has been sent to the NBA Development League, but the No. 2 pick in 2009 — Hasheem Thabeet — did. The Cavs think Bennett can learn and develop more here at the moment.
