IFWT_Reid_Fillibuster

The Senate voted 52 to 48 to change in the filibuster rules and clear the way for many of Obama’s judicial nominees. Bought on by Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid was what he called the, “nuclear option,” which is for Senate rules to be passed by most executive and judicial nominees. What was to be a 60-vote decision maker is now placed on the table as – majority rules. Votes would include all courts, minus the Supreme.
When he raised this issue this [Thursday] morning, Reid stated, “It’s time to change before this institution becomes obsolete.” Of course, this lead to a major debate between the new vs. old of Democrats, and the Republicans are saying that if/when they take the White House, they’ll change the rules for all courts, including the Supreme.
All-in-all, the rules have changed of changing rules. Hit the jump for more.
