More sad news this morning, hopefully everyone is ok.  This is breaking news so details are still coming in. A Metro-North train has derailed in the Bronx. The train involved in derailment was the 05:54a train from Poughkeepsie, New York, due at Grand Central at 07:43a.

Authorities say a Metro-North train has derailed in the Bronx, and multiple injuries are reported.

It happened at 7:20 Sunday morning at Palisades Avenue and Independence Avenue in the Spuyten Duyvel section.

Police say four cars are off the tracks and two are on their side.

Authorities say there are passengers on board the train, and rescue workers are on the scene.

A woman at the scene says numerous emergency vehicles have responded. Rebecca Schwartz says some of the trains are submerged in water.

At least four people were killed after a Metro-North Railroad train derailed Sunday morning in the Bronx along the Hudson River, officials said.

A total of 67 people were injured — 11 critically — a New York Fire Department spokesman, Jim Long, said.

Update:

Up to 100 people were on the Train, but not sure. NTSB os on their way to the scene. Cars are twisted, each on a different side. Train came from poughkeepsie NY.
