The New Orleans Pelicans are without starting power forward Anthony Davis due to his broken left hand and according to The Times-Picayune, he has recently increased his rehab and Friday he did some limited work.

“He’s chomping at the bit to get back,” Monty Williams said. “Obviously with Tyreke Evans coming back before everybody thought he would, A.D. is trying to do the same thing. I want to win just as bad — or more — than anybody but not at the expense of putting him in harm’s way. He’s doing more than he is supposed to probably.”

Davis is expected to miss 3-5 more weeks and while he may want to come back earlier than that time-frame, he won’t play until the medical staff clears him. It should also be noted that Evans tweaked his ankle on Friday and admits he may have returned too early. Moving forward the Pelicans will be cautious with both players.
