A PR executive, at the internet media company IAC, is feeling the wrath of a tweet, she thought was a joke, after being terminated from her job today, hit the jump for more!
Justine Sacco, a former corporate communications director for IAC, decided it would be a good idea to post an insensitive, disrespectful, tweet that read:
“Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!”
Sacco has officially learned that twitter is not just twitter, after her tweet went viral, her job got a hold of her comment and fired her. IAC reps have stated:
“The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC,” the company said in a statement on Saturday. “We take this issue very seriously, and we have parted ways with the employee in question.”
“There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally,” the statement continued. “We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core.”

It’s a shame that in this day & time anyone would publish such a statement. Words travel @ the speed of light now. In this age of advanced technology, nothings a secret It’s designed that way. I pray that this young woman will some day have a change of heart.
