Like the Lakers, the Brooklyn Nets got hit with the injury bug pretty early.  The Nets however have gotten some of their key pieces back in Deron Williams and Paul Pierce but lost a big piece in Brook Lopez for the rest of the season.  Still the Nets have been very disappointing so far with a 9-18 record and the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference.  After getting blown out by the Indiana Pacers on Monday, coach Jason Kidd felt his team had come to accept defeat.

“Well I think it is getting very close to just accepting losing,” Kidd said after his team lost its third straight to drop to 9-18 overall. “We are kind of getting comfortable with losing. And we got to make a stand with that because when things get tough, do we just give in and most of the time right now we do.”

Star point guard Deron Williams felt differently.

Told of Kidd’s comment, point guard Deron Williams said, “I’m not. I’m not comfortable losing. It’s not fun. Not only when we’re losing during the game, but when I go home sitting there and thinking about it, it’s not fun.”

With an NBA record team salary, aging All-Stars, injured younger stars and a team that just isn’t playing cohesively, this may be way too much for a first year head coach.  Not only is it Kidd’s first year as a head coach, he’s never even been on the sideline as an assistant to gain some experience.  Now by no means is Kidd the only person to blame for the Nets troubles but from the beginning I thought choosing him was a bad idea.  With the rest of the East playing so badly the Nets still have time to get things together but I still don’t see them having a chance of beating the Heat or Pacers.
