Though the suspect remains at large, associates of Doe B are telling authorities that Doe B knew the assailant prior to the shooting and that the motivation for the murder is jealousy. Apparently, the assailant’s jealousy became out of control when Doe B was signed to T.I.’s Grand Hustle and the love and admiration he received in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama grew.

Also, local officials have vowed to shut down the venue where Doe B and Kimberle Johnson were killed, which are Montgomery’s 46th and 47th homicides this year.

Mayor Todd Strange had this to say.

Effective immediately, the City of Montgomery has taken action to close the Centennial Hill Bar and Grill on Highland Avenue, which operated previously as the Rose Supper Club. We do not take this action lightly, but believe this decision is compelled by clear evidence that continued operation of this establishment poses an imminent threat to the public’s safety.
