TUPAC SHAKUR 17th  Anniversary

A musical inspired by Tupac, is set to make its way on Broadway, at the top of the summer! Hit the jump for more.

“Holler If You Hear Me”, a piece inspired by the lyrics of the Hip Hop legend, will depict the stories told in his songs, through the visual aid of a musical, and the story line of one overcoming friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. The broadway piece is set to debut May 25th at the Palace Theatre.

“The $8 million production will include actual 2pac songs “Me Against the World,” “California Love”, “Keep Ya Head Up,” and “Holler if Ya Hear Me” among others. Shakur’s mother Afeni is credited as a producer alongside TV man Eric L. Gold (The Wayans Bros.) and South Korean theater impresario Chun-soo Shin. The script comes courtesy of Todd Kreidler (of the new stage version of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner) and the director is Kenny Leon (2010’s Fences).”
