MLK weekend is usually a key release period for major motion pictures due to the 4 day weekend. Therefore, box office earnings at this time are always tabulated differently. With that said, Ice Cube and Kevin Hart’s buddy cop comedy “Ride Along” recently broke the box office record for any film opening on MLK weekend. Check below the jump for more details.
“Ride Along” opened with 47.8 Million in sales, which eclipses the previous record holder “Cloverfield”, that opened with 46.1 Million back in 2008. Needless to say, Ice Cube keeps on winning, and Kevin Hart is further establishing himself as a bankable hollywood star. Long way from “Soul Plane”, congrats to them!
