In an interview with Lee Cowan, set to air on January 26th, the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg stated that he is “the Susan Lucci of the Grammys.” In case you don’t know, Susan Lucci portrayed Erica Kane on ABC’s All My Children. Lucci, who’s career spans over 3 decades and is considered a daytime television veteran, was nominated for an Emmy over 20 times. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until much later in her career (after 18 failed nominations, to be exact) that she eventually won one for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.” As for Snoop, he’s sold over 30 million records in his 20+ year-long career and has yet to win. Hit the jump to see what he says about this…

“Crown me Susan Lucci. Give me my award! Before I go Kanye West on ya’ll and just take the (expletive deleted) thing!” The veteran rapper tells Cowan.

This go-around, Snoop’s latest work has him nominated in the best Reggae Album category. Titled, Reincarnated, the rapper says the new work is part of a smarter, wiser Snoop, and a turn from the earlier days when he was a poster child for guns, drugs and violence.
