Back in March 2012, Robert Poindexter of the 70′s band The Persuaders sued Kanye West for illegally sampling his 1972 hit “Trying Girls Out” in Jay Z’s “Girls Girls Girls,” which Kanye produced. After 20 months of failing to serve the always-on-the-go Kanye, the case has been “dismissed without prejudice for failure to prosecute.” That’s a $500k value for Kanye!

Poindexter apparently even used U.S. Marshals and private service companies to try to help serve Kanye, but no dice. Maybe he shouldn’t have waited over a decade since the song came out? I’m just saying.
