The San Antonio Spurs signed guard Shannon Brown to a 10-day contract. Brown will provide more scoring than what Othyus Jeffers could give them. They signed Jeffers to a 10-day contract then released him on the ninth day; now they’re giving Brown a shot.
Brown was traded to Washington from Phoenix late in the preseason and was shortly released after they acquired him. Brown only wanted to play in the NBA this season and that’s why he did not accept any overseas offers. Brown is on Washington’s books for $3.5 million.
Brown, 6-4/210, played for the Phoenix Suns from 2011-13. In two seasons with the Suns he appeared in 118 games, averaging 10.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.7 minutes per game.
