Change could be coming very soon in New York. Reports have stated that after the Knicks home loss to the Blazers this week, owner James Dolan grabbed Carmelo and possibly one other player for a private meeting to discuss the future of coach Mike Woodson. Everyone can agree it has been a very disappointing season at MSG, but I am not sure firing Woodson solves that problem. Hit the jump for more.

Woodson has never backed away from criticism this season. Anytime it is mentioned in a press conference or interview he speaks honestly and admits some fault on his own part as well. He told ESPN radio this week that this season “has been a disaster from a coaching standpoint”.

According to the Daily News: James Dolan’s visit to the Knicks’ locker room late Wednesday included a high-level meeting with Carmelo Anthony and at least one other player to discuss the state of the club and whether a coaching change is necessary, the Daily News has learned.

My question is everyone is so quick to wanna replace the coach, but nobody gives thought to who would replace him and how the team would get better because of it. This team has completely underachieved, and I am not sure how much of that blame falls on coach.
