While many couples were celebrating their love for each other on Valentine’s Day, Oscar Pistorius had a more morbid tribute. He paid his respects to his deceased girlfriend, whom he is charged with killing one year ago.
“No words can adequately capture my feelings about the devastating accident that has caused such heartache for everyone who truly loved and continues to love Reeva,” he wrote on his website.
“The pain and sadness — especially for Reeva’s parents, family and friends, consumes me with sorrow,” Pistorius continued. “The loss of Reeva and the complete trauma of that day, I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Pistorius is charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius allegedly unleashed a barrage of bullets through a closed bathroom door behind which Steenkamp was there crouched. Pistorius maintains that it was an “accident” saying he thought she was an “intruder”.
Some people were outraged by Pistorius’ tribute to Steenkamp since he is responsible for her death.
“Two face!!” @CarismaHarmzen wrote. “[He’s] just looking for sympathy. He needs to be in jail!”
User @queenelisabeth wrote, “Maybe he shouldn’t have shot her. #justathought”
And @jstutsport chimed in, “Only thing devastating for him is [that] he is going to jail.”
The trial is set to begin on March 3 in South Africa.

I think it just reflects how MUCH support Oscar has considering the lack of negative comments on here.. I have only just happened on this today and felt I had to comment. Oscar has much support around the world and we can’t all be wrong. People have to take a closer look at the man himself, his achievements, his charity work and man himself… there is reasonable doubt that he killed Reeva intentionally and people should remember that. Don’t believe the media hype and malicious rumours. Oscar is a decent human being.. he made a mistake and we who support him, will never waiver in our support for him
